I am a PhD Candidate studying 19th and 20th US History pursing a dual-title PhD with African American Studies. My research focus currently is on the cultural production within the Black Gay Cultural Renaissance of the 1980s era as it relates to questions surrounding the carceral state, public health, and identity in the United States.
