Biography:
I am a Ph.D. candidate in colonial Latin American history. My dissertation studies southern Yucatán, northern Guatemala, and the western Caribbean during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. I examine the early modern social and environmental history of this forgotten and marginalized forested space, especially focusing on how local ecologies entangled Spanish, English, and Maya communities.
