  1. MA, Peking University, 2014
  2. BA, Peking University, 2011

I am a doctoral candidate and my research focuses mainly on the cultural and social history of early modern Germany, with special interest in the German Reformation and the Lutheran confessional culture. My dissertation, tentatively entitled “Dreams and Dream Culture in Early Modern Lutheran Communities,” attempts to historicize and relocate dream narratives in their cultural and religious context in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Germany. My project has been supported by fellowships from Penn State as well as by various institutions including the German Historical Institute in Washington DC, the Leibnitz Institute for European History (IEG) and the Herzog Ernst Library. I have traveled extensively and conducted my research in multiple libraries and archives, such as the Herzog August Library in Wolfenbüttel, the Bavarian State Library in Munich, and the Austrian National Library in Vienna. I also work as teaching and research assistant in the history department at the Pennsylvania State University. I was born in China and received my BA and MA in history from Peking University.
