Curriculum Vitae:

B.A. History, California State University, Dominguez Hills

Biography:

I am a Ph.D. student in Colonial Latin American History. My research examines the sociopolitical and cultural dynamics of Indigenous communities—Nahuatl, K’iche’, and Kaqchikel—in Highland Guatemala during the Spanish Invasion, challenging traditional triumphalist narratives of the “conquest.” Drawing on my Indigenous heritage and Guatemalan identity, and engaging with Indigenous sources, I aim to write a New Conquest History of Guatemala that highlights Indigenous agency, resilience, and historical memory.
