Biography:

I am a doctoral candidate specializing in modern Tibetan and Himalayan history. My research examines Tibet’s geopolitical and trade relations with neighboring Himalayan polities—particularly Nepal—during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. My dissertation focuses on the Khatsaras and Lhasa Newars, exploring themes of mixed ethnicity, transnational belonging and mobility, and extraterritoriality within the broader context of trans-Himalayan networks and imperial borderlands.
