Education:
BA in history and philosophy, MA in East Asian Studies, both at UCLA; doctoral student at Penn State
Biography:
My field is in early modern global history, especially the history of Sino-Western interactions and dialogues. My interests originated from the history of the Jesuits and their transregional religious influence across Europe and Asia. I wish to expand my research scope during my graduate career and incorporate aspects of cultural history, and the history of literature, philosophy, and emotions into my work. Through my research, I hope to better understand the modernities of both the West and China by digging into their early modern roots.
