Biography:
Shelley Zhou is a PhD candidate in modern Chinese history. Her dissertation examines the development of extracurricular political education for Chinese children from the 1920s to the 1970s. Before coming to Penn State, Shelley served as a research assistant for the Wilson Center’s History and Public Policy Program and conducted Fulbright research in Taipei. She has a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky and currently works under the supervision of Professor Kate Merkel-Hess.
