Biography:

I am a doctoral candidate in early modern global history. My research focuses on French Jesuit missionaries in the eighteenth century, their scientific missions, and the cultural encounters between France and China during the same period. I am interested in the global circulation of science and technology, as well as the production of knowledge during the Enlightenment. My dissertation centers on Antoine Gaubil, a French Jesuit missionary in China in mid-eighteenth century, to explore the scientific networks of the Jesuits as well as the continuous cultural exchanges after Kangxi emperor’s reign.
